Child/Adolescent Treatment Center
What is CAT-C?
Welcome to the Child/Adolescent Treatment Center (CAT-C), the newest addition to the Institute for Behavior Therapy! We are a private practice and training center specializing in state-of-the art, evidence-based psychological assessment and treatment for children and families. Directed by leading clinical child psychologist, Adam S. Weissman, Ph.D., CAT-C combines the latest research with flexible, innovative evidence-based treatments to advance clinical practice with school-aged youth.
Our Mission
At CAT-C, our mission is simple. In a culture of youth mental health stigma and growing divide between research and practice, we strive to bridge the gap, eliminate barriers, and de-mystify and de-stigmatize youth mental illness. We view each child as comprising a unique set of strengths, challenges, and personality traits, with a focus on alleviating symptoms of distress rather than "treating diagnoses." By creating a treatment and training center where state-of-the-art, evidence-based practices are informed by advances in both clinical and cognitive science, in a relaxed and friendly environment that allows children to be themselves, we strive to deliver the highest quality of individually-tailored, evidence-based care to our clients, and our community.
