SOCIAL ANXIETY GROUPS:  Are you shy?  Have difficulties approaching the opposite sex?  Do you have difficulties making small talk?  Do you feel very self-conscious in large groups of people? Do you have problems speaking up in classes or in the board room?  Generally, do you have difficulties asserting your own feelings or fear confrontation, rejection, not being liked, etc.or are down on your self, lacking confidence, etc. It's a known fact that social anxiety underlies many of the problems that are seen in the therapy setting and is probably the most frequently presented problem in our center as well..  The most effective  way of dealing with this most menacing of problems is in group treatment where you can learn cognitive-behavioral approaches, can develop a sensitivity in dealing with others, can actually practice social skills and get feedback from others having like problems.
